From Your Process Design to Plant Automation

Process plants require close coordination between equipment, instrumentation, motor control and operating sequences.

DNC develops the electrical and automation package around your P&IDs, equipment schedules, instrument lists, control philosophy and cause-and-effect requirements. We coordinate with your process engineers and equipment suppliers to establish clear interfaces between individual packages and the overall plant control system.

Our solutions support batch and continuous operations, new plant developments, capacity expansions and control system upgrades.

Electrical Engineering and Control Panels

DNC provides electrical design consultation and panel engineering aligned with the project specifications. Our scope can include electrical schematics, panel layouts, control architecture, I/O schedules, cable schedules, component selection and technical submissions for approval.

Panel capabilities include segregation up to Form 4b and enclosure protection up to IP66. NEMA enclosure types, CE conformity and UL compliance requirements are addressed according to the agreed project scope, including applicable documentation, testing and certification arrangements.

Process Applications

DNC provides electrical and automation support for the following process applications, based on the plant developer’s or technology provider’s approved design and operating requirements.

PLC Programming and Batch Control

We develop PLC software around the approved operating philosophy for batch and continuous processes. Functions can include:

– Automatic and manual operating modes.
– Process start-up, shutdown and equipment sequencing.
– Temperature, pressure, flow and level control.
– Dosing, weighing, blending and material transfer.
– Recipe management and batch parameter control.
– Equipment permissives, interlocks and fault handling.
– Interfaces with packaged machinery and existing plant systems.

Operating limits, protective functions and interfaces with any dedicated safety systems are defined with the EPC contractor and process designer.

HMI and SCADA Systems

DNC develops HMI and SCADA applications for centralised plant operation and process visibility.

Features can include process mimic screens, equipment status, alarm management, event logging, historical trends, recipe selection and batch reporting.

Production quantities, equipment runtime and utility consumption can be recorded where suitable instrumentation is available. User access levels and operating permissions are configured to suit plant procedures.

Industrial IoT and Cybersecurity

We integrate approved plant data with on-premises or cloud platforms to support remote dashboards, production reporting, utility monitoring and maintenance planning.

Industrial networking and cybersecurity support can include network segmentation, industrial firewalls, user access control, secure remote connectivity, device configuration and backup arrangements.

Solutions are developed around the plant owner’s IT and OT requirements, with local process control designed to operate independently of cloud connectivity.

We work to agreed component specifications, drawing standards, approval procedures and testing plans. Project deliverables can include electrical drawings, software backups, test records, as-built documentation and operating guidance.

DNC supports site electrical and control wiring, cable termination, instrument signal connections and communication cabling within the agreed scope.
